The Morality Of Same Sex Marriage - 2166 Words
The morality of same-sex marriage is a major controversial issue in the United States today. While Liberals believe that marriage should be the union of two people who love each other and that it should be legal for gay and lesbian individuals in order to ensure equal rights for all citizens, Conservatives believe that marriage is the union of one woman and one man only and that requiring citizens to sanction same-sex relationships violates moral and religious beliefs. Taking opposing viewpoints of this issue are both philosophers David Boonin and Jeff Jordan who discuss the public dilemma of same-sex marriage within their articles. Through the use of counterarguments to the premises made by Jeff Jordan, as well as by discussing variousâ⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦After providing a set of premises as to why one would hold the parity thesis- which states that homosexuality has the same moral status as heterosexuality- true; Jordan attacks these claims by objecting to the first premise which states that homosexual acts between consenting adults do not harm anyone, and the fourth which explains that discrimination against homosexuals removes individual freedom as it ignores personal choice and privacy [Jordan 2]. He states that these premises are only plausible when these acts are done in private, concluding that one should only be able to discriminate homosexual behavior if it is done in public. This premise is an assumption made by Jordan that unlike homosexual acts, people enjoy viewing heterosexual acts that are displayed publically. This premise assumes that the majority of society accepts viewing heterosexu al behavior in public, but are uncomfortable with viewing public homosexual acts. To set up his argument in support of the Difference Thesis, Jordan creates a scenario in which one person believes that subject ââ¬Å"Xâ⬠is morally wrong but another person believes it is morally permissible, calling this conflict an ââ¬Å"impasseâ⬠(Jordan 42). He continues to define ââ¬Å"public dilemmaâ⬠as special case impasses and

Question: Discuss about the Reflective Report Conducting and Literature. Answer: Introduction: In the past two assignments, I have worked on the issue of cyber security within the business practices. This issue has been prevalent in the contemporary business practices. The advanced technology in the recent times has acted as both a blessing and a bad fortune at the same time for the organizations. While researching about this very topic, I had identified few things. While conducting the literature review, I had consulted several books and journals regarding the project, where I had found out that the majority of the risk parts are due to technological issues, therefore the cyber security has been a major issue for the businesses as this causes several significant attacks on the privacy of the business through network abusing or any malicious attacks. From the research, I had found out about the possible attacks that can affect not only the business, but the individuals as well. I had identified the possible loopholes which can be affected by the cyber criminals and how they ca n hamper an individuals life as well. My experience is quite valuable as I can ensure that my individual life is not hampered and I can ensure my cyber security. In addition to that, I can also ensure that my business is well protected and the cyber criminals are not capable of causing any threat to my business. Therefore I can also protect the business infrastructures from the virtual attacks. This experience has been valuable for me as it can protect my individual and business security in future. Cyber security is mostly the protection of major intellectual property of any business or individual that is in digital form. While researching for two previous assignments, I had identified the possible challenges that can emerge within the business for using excessive technology. Therefore the businesses are now using several means for protecting their digital intellectual properties. I had also recognized the potential challenges that can affect the businesses such as the increased numbers of users of the technology, availability of the technology and the increasing popularity of the internet amongst the general population. My experience regarding these challenges has helped me to chalk out the possible ways I can protect my business from any kind of cyber crime. Through my experience, I have identified few methods which may help me in keeping the cyber terrorists away from the business affairs. It is very important for the businesses to keep the entire operating system updated so that the experts can find out whether there is any chance of cyber attacks. Therefore keeping the entire system modified will always help my business to be encrypted. It is also necessary to encrypt the system software and the wireless networks updated for protecting the business. Therefore the data can be controlled and the hackers will not get to the storage clouds easily. While researching for the assignment, I have read various books, blogs and journals regarding this topic. One major thing that I identified that the cyber security is a complicated matter as the attacks on digital properties can create a huge damage in the air traffic and financial matters which is almost similar to the terrorist attacks on any physical space. Therefore the challenges for protecting the cyber security of any space are a multi-layered domain. The experts in the system should always be on their toes to find out whether there is any loophole for the cyber crime. There have been several researches on an international level and several countries are fighting against cyber crime. However the random usage of mobile phone and internet has made cyber crime tracking more difficult. Social media plays a great part within the challenges of cyber crime as faking the advertisements also enhance the further challenges in cyber crime. Several researchers have indicated that the nati onal security should also be well-protected as it is involved with different responsibilities and roles with the concerned stakeholders. Therefore there should be an entrusted relationship between the government of the country and the companies, so that a well-encrypted cyber security management can be established. Business research is very much important in the research learning procedure as it determines various things about finding potential cures for the issues that can possibly happen in the contemporary business world. The business researches tend to define the business objectives as before initiating any business; the entrepreneurs have a major responsibility of defining business. Therefore they should have a detailed research procedure to find out the existing competitors within the industry. This can be very much helpful for the research learning process. The business researches also help the students learn how to collect necessary data from the market, both primary and secondary. The students can learn collecting data and analyzing them for further times. This is another major thing to learn as this will help the students to understand the determination of product quality, price, service and value in the market. I have conducted the previous activities with the aim of identifying the potential challenges of cyber security within the contemporary business activities. Cyber security is a major issue for the businesses as it can affect their entire operations. The project has also been done for recognizing the factors and causes that enhances the risks of cyber security within the business channels. This particular topic is quote critical as it comes with different kinds of causes and challenges that can be discussed further. The project has also been conducted as cyber security requires becoming stronger as the numbers of hackers are increasing gradually, however the companies should have an encrypted system so that the hackers cannot get into the storage system easily. However, if the organizations are not adequately aware about the adverse situations, they can take effective steps to prevent their data to be corrupted by the cyber criminals. I had conducted these two activities as these hack ers do not only attack the company properties, but also the individual properties. In addition to that, it can also impact my own business as well. I had gathered sufficient knowledge for making my business encrypted from the cyber attackers as well. The learning from these two past assignments has made me gather knowledge regarding the cyber security and how the cyber crime can affect the business activities to a great extent. My learning has taught me that the system software should always be updated so that the system experts can easily find out the loopholes. The browsers should always be updated as the companies can use proper filtration for controlling the company data accessing. I have also learned that in a company, there should be proper usage of strict policies regarding the passwords. In addition to that, all the folders, drives and files should be encrypted. Restricting the data usage for some people would always help the company to restrict the software and the administrative rights so that the computers of the organization are free from any unauthorized installation. In future I can take help from such learning and ensure that in my organization, the authority provides access to few restricted sites and use proper i nternet filters so that the hackers and employees are prevented from any kind of unnecessary data to upload in the restricted storage clouds. I have also identified that the company should hire professionals who can deal with any kind of security issue or any scammers bulge in the business network.

Causes For The American Revolution essays
Causes For The American Revolution essays There where 3 major causes of the American Fight for Independence in 1776 to about 1783. The first cause was the Great Awakening. The second cause was Enlightenment. The final cause of the Revolution was Oppressive Treatment of the colonies. The first cause of the Revolution was the Great Awakening. For thousands of years, state controlled churches, and faiths had been the trend. If the King was a Christian, the Country, and all her people, where also Christian. If the King was Catholic, the Country, and all her people where Catholic. The Great Awakening was spread by people such as Jonathan Edwards, and George Whitefeild who taught that faith was more personal than previously accepted. The Great Awakening was the revolutionary idea that the State should not have direct control of the faiths of the people. Instead, she should set basic moral guidelines, such as Do not Kill, and allow people to practice their faith independently from the Government. This idea was very popular in the Americas where many people (mostly in the northern colonies) seeker to escape religious oppression in Europe, and sought out an escape in the Americas. Most of these people did not like the British Government who oppressed them in the past. This, in part, encouraged them to seek complete sovereignty from the British Government that had oppressed them so much. For them, it wasnt so much a matter of anger, as much as an inevitable event, as shown in the very first lines of the Declaration of Independence: When in the course of Human Events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands... As you can see, they simply wanted to cease the unnecessary contact with the British, and live their lives. The second major cause was Enlightenment. In the mid 17th century, through the 18th century, the idea of Enlightenment became popularized primarily by John Locke. Other people who helped popularize the concept w...

Suckwell Vacuum Cleaners, Ltd Case Study Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 2250 words
Suckwell Vacuum Cleaners, Ltd - Case Study Example Chipped paints happen during the assembly stage. Furthermore, the company experienced missing instructions during the final packaging and shipment. Also, missing serial numbers, broken switches and damaged insulation on main cable are identified as occurring problems in the finish product. Figure 1 summarizes the importance and difficulty to solve with regards to the identified problems. Inadequate suctions and damaged to insulation cable are the most difficult to solve and of high importance because the problems require downgrading of product and replacement of cable as a rectification. Units with suction problems are sold at half the price of a new unit but without Suckwell identity markings. Other problems such as missing instructions and broken switches are considered important but easy to solve because these can be corrected during the assembly stages as well as final inspection of finish products. Perforated bags and scratches on the plastic are also considered as important because they provide aesthetics to the product. On the other hand, missing serial number and paint chipped are categorized as problems of lesser importance because serial numbers are considered as additional information of the product for purposes of traceability while chipped paints can be prevented along the assembly line. The frequency and costs incurred with the problems identif... Sorting the problems identified in Figure 1, the Pareto analysis showed that scratches on the plastic body are the most recurring problem and incurs the highest cost of non-conformance. Thus, this paper will focus on solving the problem with regards to scratches. Figure 3 illustrates the Pareto analysis conducted on the problems identified. A Pareto Analysis requires the utilisation of a chart which is designed by Vilfredo Pareto which also follows the 80:20 rule. The analysis rates the problems according to importance, frequency and impact of the problem to the company. According to Pareto's rule, if a company prevents the cause of only 20% of the cause-effect pairs, they can reduce the number of defect incidents by 80% (Kemp, 2006). In other words, the company separates the vital few from the trivial many where the vital few are considered as the most important problems that need to be addressed (Reliability Analysis Center, 2004). The film Little Big Man Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 750 words
The film Little Big Man - Essay Example These include the contrary warrior, the two-spirited person and the grandfather. These are entities of the Cheyenne that occupy their ordinary life. In portrayal of the two-spirited warrior, the sculpture emanates from the view of the little big man. It is vital to note that the young crab grows to become a successful warrior in the Cheyenne army. The younger bear, who is the contrary warrior, creates enmity with the little big man (Grant 98). The fundamental portrayal of the contrary warrior concerns the fact that nature stems from the fact that they are rebellious spirits. Their rebellion seems to stem from an injustice that they witness around them. This injustice may have trivial or concrete reasons. In the younger bearââ¬â¢s case, he seems to be envious of the little big manââ¬â¢s success. In turn, he strives to convince his society of his inner prowess. This does not bear success, in the short run, and he becomes frantic at the same. It comes as a further blow when the little big man saves him from a Pawnee warrior. The contrary warrior comes across as a superb portrayal of prowess in war and life skills. In this sense, the contrary warrior would walk on his hands around the camps. In addition, he would be able of extraordinary skills of riding the horse backwards. He would be able of turning their arches for backward shooting of arrows. Whenever he could come across a stream, he would lift his moccasin and hop through the water. His rebellion focused on doing the opposite things during wars. This would be both beneficial and counterproductive to wars. In spite of the contrary warriorââ¬â¢s struggles at seeking recognition, he is the same. This proves the same when he saves the little big man from Custerââ¬â¢s pistol. The grandfather shares a positive portrayal in the film story. He surfaces in the same when he saves the little big man and Caroline from the wild. It is vital to note that the Pawnee warriors are a dangerous group
